Books and magazines may be checked out for one week. Books may be checked out during regularly scheduled weekly classes, before and after school, or during open check-out times. Books may be renewed at anytime. Reference materials, such as encyclopedias, are to be used in the library.

Library books need to be returned to the library in a timely manner. If a student has an overdue book, the book must be returned before any other materials are checked out. If a book is lost, it must be paid for. According to the Anchorage School District policy, $17 is the replacement cost of a hardbound book and $6 is charged for a paperback book. Report cards are held until either the book is returned or paid for. When a book is found, the money is refunded.
