Athabascan Earrings

Damaris, grade 4

Today I made Athabascan earrings. Mrs. Jackson was the one who helped me make them. Mrs. Jackson is Athabascan.

Damaris and Mrs. Jackson beading.

The first step is to put 50 or 30 beads in a pattern. Then you make a tear drop, using a bead next to the knot.

Starting a bead project.

Put 1 large bead and 6 small beads. Then put the needle through big bead only but toward the tear drop. Now you have to repeat the 50 or 30 beads in the same pattern. Tie it off by going through the big bead and 6 small beads using thread under 6 small beads. Then cut it off. The last thing you need to do is put a post or a clip-on on it.

Adding beads to string.Sewing with beads.
