Mrs. Bevins is an artist. She did a couple of art pieces for William Tyson Elementary School and she told us she did art pieces for other schools too. She has been an artist for about 17 years. In some of her work she also does a lot of split personalities like light and dark .
Susie's personal background is Inupiaq Eskimo. Susie's ethnic background is Inupiaq Norwegian. Her mom is Inupiaq Eskimo and her dad is Caucasian. She was born at a trading post in Itchy Point, Alaska, (East of Point Barrow). Growing up she was raised by a native family. She was married at the age of 18. She had kids at the age of 19 to 21.
When she is stressed and has a lot of stuff on her mind her art calms her down.

These first three pictures show the art pieces Susie Bevins did. They are on display at William Tyson Elementary. These pieces are made of aluminum and are in shapes of animals like fish, birds, reptiles and some others.

This is another piece of Susie Bevins art. This is the back side of the bench she made.
This is the front side of the bench Susie Bevins made. This bench is in our school's entry area. It is made out of aluminum, brass, and copper.
