I have been an Educator for the past 30 + years, the majority of the years in Anchorage. I Have a BA degree in Education from Western Washington University and a MS in Ed. from Portland State University.
I believe that we all need to celebrate our ethnicity. I believe everybody deserves an opportunity to learn in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic setting. Children from all ethnic cultures are all capable of learning and it is my belief, that given high expectations and the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, they can and will succeed.
I have worked in the following schools: Muldoon Elementary, Klatt Elementary, Mountain View and William Tyson Elementary schools as well as 5 years at East High School as an Assistant Principal.
I have a wonderful family of 4, my wife Vivian, daughter Angela and her husband Todd, and our dog Midnight. We live in a Garrison style home, built by my wife,(she was the General Contractor), in South Anchorage.
I enjoy sportfishing and cruising. We operate a summer Charter business in Seward Alaska. We have a 34 foot Bayliner Sportfishing boat, that is equipped with all tournament tackle. We fish for halibut, rock fish, ling cod and salmon. We also go on sightseeing charters as needed.
William Tyson School is a new elementary school loacated in North Mt. View. We have computers in every room with access to the internet from all as well as a very well equipped computer lab. Community members/families are welcome to come in and experience the world of computers in our lab. We have a wonderful, dedicated and very well trained staff who relate to our kids and provide them with a positive learning environment.
