Welcome to McGee's Sixth Grade
Hello, my name is Chiquita McGee, and I am a sixth grade teacher
at Willow Crest School
in Anchorage,
Alaska. My class is composed of children
from many ethnic backgrounds. Through many exciting activites,
our main goal is to prepare for seventh grade.
We study seven
academic subjects, music, physical education and art.
We also participate in reading
enhancement programs, spelling bees, math jamborees, and afterschool activities.
Our students are enriched through our Bilingual and
Indian Education Departments. A wide spectrum of services are also available through
the Special Education Program. Our staff is currently being trained in Kagan's Cooperative Learning, and during the next school year, we will train in
First Steps, a reading assessment program.
