We offer bilingual students intensive English as a second language instruction. These students become more proficient in English and gradually mainstream into their homeroom classes.

We encourage an awareness of and sensitivity to diverse languages and cultures for all students and staff. We also offer assistance to the classroom teachers.

Our learning center is directed by a certified teacher and three experienced tutors.

We have a unique situation here at Willow Crest with two bilingual learning centers, one for primary and one for intermediate. We keep the children for extended periods of time in grades 1-3 to work on their Language Arts skills. In the intermediate grades the children have the opportunity, depending on their skill level, to stay all day in the ESL/Bilingual classroom where they receive instruction in all core subjects. We adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each student. As soon as the student is able to work at grade level he/she is mainstreamed into the regular class where he/she will be monitored.
