One Year Later...Remembering September 11, 2001

Stripe with the U.S. flag as background and the words Remembering September 11, 2001.

Updated August 29, 2002

Superintendent Carol Comeau's photo. In addition to our normal back-to-school activities, this year we have another significant event to commemorate -- the anniversary of the September 11 attacks on our country. We have all been touched, in some way, by this tragic event that has become a part of our nation's history. I believe it is not only important to honor the memory of those we lost, but to also commemorate this date by reaffirming our patriotism and resolve and move forward and create a peaceful future for our students.

Individual schools will determine how to commemorate the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. A variety of resources are being provided to principals, teachers, and staff for use in preparation for September 11, 2002. These resources are also available here to assist you and the rest of our community as we approach this anniversary.

Sincerely,
Carol Comeau, Superintendent
