	Description:Physical therapists review doctor's notes and patient history, evaluate a patient's balance, posture, strength, muscle function and range of motion, and then design a treatment plan. Treatment plans include hot/cold packs, electrical and ultrasound stimulation, deep tissue massage, exercises, and use of prosthetic devices. Physical therapists then monitor and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Education and Training

Physical therapists are licensed by the state and are required to:

graduate from an accredited physical therapy school.
provide proof of at least 60 hours of employment in p.t.; or
pass a national board exam within the last 24 months

Salary Range

In Alaska, Physical Therapists earn an average of $63,080 per year.
