Special education services are available to students from 9th to 12th grade who experience disabilities. Individual special education programs are cooperatively developed by an individual education planning (IEP) team which includes parents, teachers, administrators and, when appropriate, other specialists. These teams make every effort to provide the appropriate special education program to children in a setting as close to the regular classroom as possible.
Programs at East
East High School provides a range of instructional, vocational, and support services for students. Students at East High School may receive services within a continuum ranging from support and assistance within general education classes to specialized instruction in special education classrooms. Specialized classes are available for students who need basic Life Skills curriculum. Intensive needs classes are available for students experiencing significant multiple disabilities, and/or medical conditions. Vocational Coordinators provide vocational instruction and transitional support.
