Make-Up Work for Missed Classroom Time

CURRENT EVENTS SUMMARY

Mrs. Collins—Social Studies and Youth Court

2007-2008

Sometimes students will miss classroom time due to an illness, family trip, or any number of excuses.  These lectures, guest speakers, classroom activities, videos or films and class discussions cannot be repeated in the depth that a student will get in class.  Therefore, I am offering an alternative current event assignment, which can replace missed points for excused absences.  This make-up work must be handed to me by the Friday two weeks before the end of each quarter.  The deadlines this year are as follows:

                             1st quarter—October 5th

                             2nd quarter—December 7th

                             3rd quarter—February 22nd

                             4th quarter—May 9th

**These specific guidelines must be followed in order to receive make-up credit.  All papers must have a complete heading—full name, date, assignment, missed or extra credit (only 2 accepted), class period, and titled either Make-Up Work or Extra Credit.
