Overview

Alaska Comprehensive System of Student Assessments includes two types of statewide assessment: Regular Assessments or the Diploma Track and Alternate Assessment or the Non-Diploma Track.

2007-2008 Dates

Other dates relevant to assessment for 2007-2008

• September 30, 2007—last date to submit application for Nonstandardized assessment for students expecting to graduate in the 2007-2008 school year
• August 3 , 2007 (Fall Administration)—last date to submit application for Modified HSGQE
• February 1 , 2008 (Spring Administration)—last date to submit application for Modified HSGQE

Standards and Practice Items

Alaska’s Assessments measure students’ proficiency on Grade Level Expectations (GLE’s).

Students succeed when teachers base their instruction on standards and grade level expectations and when they are familiar with the assessments.
