Let students strengths, not struggles, determine the outcome of their workDefinitionsThese are various methods for drawing connections between related topics to assist students with comprehension and recall.   This refers to the rules used to determine which form of a word is used as well as the order of words within a sentence.   This refers to a process for visually organizing information to assist students in understanding concepts, their interrelationships, and hierarchies. A commonly used, simple version of this is the Venn Diagram. Types of organizers include: webbing, maps, diagrams, outlines, and bubbling, in addition to other techniques.   This often refers to the structure of speech and the message one relates with its use.   In an educational setting, this refers to the words a student understands and/or uses correctly. New vocabulary is often introduced with each new topic of study.   Refers to the order in which words are used within a given language. For example, in English we might say, I read that book, as opposed to That book read I.   Its on the tip of my tongue, is often stated when one is experiencing difficulty rapidly finding the correct word to use. |
