Let students’ strengths, not struggles, determine the outcome of their work

Planning

Some students experience difficulty with planning skills. This may be seen when students are impulsive, have trouble solving problems, don’t seem to understand consequences, can’t link newly acquired information with that already learned, and don’t demonstrate strategies for dealing with these issues. Problems in this area make it particularly difficult for the students to complete assignments, particularly those large in nature requiring several steps, and in structuring the use of time.
