Welcome to Gruening MS 8th Grade Social Studies!
My name is Victoria Otte. I teach Social Studies on the COPPER RIVER
Team with Terri Semmler, Gale Fechik and Steve Bay. Our Special Education
collaborators are Kathy Adamich, Eric Holta and Bev McCloud.
Eighth grade Social Studies this year is a study of U.S. History
from Explorers to the beginning of the Civil War.
(They will continue with their U.S. history through the
Civil War to present day in 10th grade.) A large protion of their studies includes a
civics unit anout citizenship and the constitution.
Every student will have their own copy of "Creating America."
I will be posting assignments and upcoming events on this site.
However, circumstances may arise that may
interrupt a regular posting of all required homework and
school work assignments. Use of this site is a supplement to
instructions given first hand in the classssroom that could
change daily. Use this site as an additional tool
for student succcess not the ONLY tool. As you become familiar
with this program, you may want to have an email sent
directly to you whenever my site is updated. In
otherwords, when I do post new assignments- you can be
immediately notified at home through email. This feature is
available on the ASD
homepage and is a real time saver. Sign up through the "MY ASD"
