Welcome to Mr. Schultz's and Ms. Isham's Ignite website!!!!
Both of us are looking forward to working with all of the wonderful gifted students from the following five schools: Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Mt. Spurr, Aurora,
and Orion. We will be teaching five morning sessions at the beginning of this year. Those five sessions are:
Monday: 4th graders from Aurora, Mt. Spurr, and Orion
Tuesday: 6th graders from Mt. Spurr, Orion, Ursa Minor, and Ursa Major
Wednesday: 5th graders from Mt. Spurr, Orion, and Aurora. 6th graders from Aurora
Thursday: 4th and 5th graders from Ursa Major and Ursa Minor
Friday: 2nd and 3rd graders from Aurora, Mt. Spurr, Orion, Ursa Major, and Ursa Minor. (2nd graders will start 2nd semester)

Our first unit is "New Atlantis", a comprehensive study of the ocean's problems, i.e., pollution, overfishing, whale and shark eradication, etc. Students will be
working in groups as they try to come up with answers to these important problems. Students will also be building submersibles and in cooperative groups
will construct an underwater sea station. The unit will conclude with a parent presentation the last week of first quarter.
