AMOUNT: Up to $10,000.

DETAILS: Open to current undergraduate students in any field of study and any student in either junior or senior high school. Elder and Leemaur Publishers sponsor this scholarship essay contest. Applicants must submit an essay no longer than 500 words on one of the following topics to be eligible for the scholarship:

Topic #1: Many experts believe that voter turnout continues to decline because people have lost faith in their political leaders. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

Topic #2: Many experts believe that we are heading towards a global recession. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

Topic #3: Many experts believe that a major catastrophic event will occur in the year 2012. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

DETAILS: Open to 9th-12th grade high school, college or graduate student. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.  You may study any major and and attend or plan to attend any accredited college or university in the U.S.  You must submit a completed application and a 1,000 word essay. Applicant must answer one of the following questions:

(1) Describe a person, place, or issue that is important to you.

(2) Tell us why you deserve to win this scholarship.

(3) If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
