| DETAILS: Open to high school seniors and juniors as well as students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30. To apply for this scholarship submit an essay, in less than 1,000 words, on one of the following topics: (1) What you consider to be the single most important societal problem? Why? AMOUNT: $1,000 to $2,500 DETAILS: Open to senior students of Filipino ancestry. Maharlika, Inc. is dedicated to providing incentives to Filipino students to stay involved in school and their community and to pursue postsecondary education. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior; have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher; be a legal resident of the state of Alaska for at least one year prior to submitting an application; demonstrate commitment to community service; and be of Filipino ancestry. Applicants must submit a completed application, a two page essay, an official transcript, SAT/ACT test scores, two recommendation letters, and a resume listing school and community activities, awards, offices held, and other relevant experiences.
