DETAILS: Open to seniors. Applicants must be seniors graduating from the Anchorage School District. Applicants must submit a letter of application stating financial need, college you will be attending, and your career goals. You must also submit a resume of school and community activities, a brief essay, a transcript, a financial plan, three recommendation letters, and your Masonic Youth membership (if none, please state).   AMOUNT: Varies from $100 one-time scholarships to four-year scholarships
  DETAILS: Open to U.S. residents under the age of 35. The intent of this scholarship is to provide hope and inspiration to current and former cancer patients. Applicants must be a current or former cancer patient; provide a summary of your cancer treatment including date of diagnosis, place of treatment, doctor's contact information and status of treatment; write a personal statement illustrating why you should be selected as a scholarship recipient; provide a description of other sources of financial aid; and include two recommendation letters from persons outside of your immediate family. AMOUNT: Full tuition plus $2,000 supply account, renewable.

DETAILS: Open to high school seniors and to transfer, graduate and college returning students. Scholarships available for illustration, graphic design, photography, digital art, animation, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, metalsmithing, industrial design, art therapy, and visual fine arts. Scholarship awards are based on talent, financial need, and merit. Applicants must attend a university in Washington or Alaska and major in the visual arts. The institution must be on the Robert B. McMillen Foundation approved college list, which can be viewed at http://www.mcmillenfoundation.org/art/colleges.htm. Applicants must submit a completed application, official transcript, list of extracurricular activities, college Financial Aid Worksheet based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), eight examples of artwork, essay answering specific questions outlined in the application instructions, and copy of the acceptance letter from the school of the applicant's choice (if it has been received). DETAILS: Open to high school seniors or students who have already graduated from high school. Applicant must be a legal and permanent resident of the U.S.; be an epilepsy patient or a family member/caregiver of an epilepsy patient; seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree; demonstrate academic achievement; possess a strong record of participation in activities outside of school; serve as a role model; and enrolled or waiting acceptance from a U.S. based institution of higher education for the 2008 fall semester. Applicant must submit a completed application form, an artistic presentation (optional), a one-page essay answering specific questions outlined in the instructions, three recommendation letters, an official transcript, and a photograph. AMOUNT: Five scholarships of $2,500 per year each over four-years, totaling $10,000 each.

DETAILS: Open to all incoming high school seniors for 2008 (current juniors). Applicants must have maintained a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.7 to 4.0 throughout high school; demonstrate financial need; attend an accredited college-level institution during all the years the scholarship is awarded; reside and attend school in Washington or Alaska; and not have a conviction of any crime. Applicants must submit a completed application, a 500-word essay, official transcript, financial information form, one recommendation letter from a current teacher or counselor, list of school and community activities, and personal statement that details information about you. RYAN MULLALY SECOND CHANCE FUND/FUND FOR CANCER WARRIORS

DETAILS: The Ryan Mullaly Second Chance Fund is a non-profit corporation offering scholarship assistance to young people who are fighting cancer. Applicants must be 22 years old or younger, be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.; be diagnosed with cancer or a recurrence of cancer between age 13 and graduation from high school; have been undergoing active treatment for cancer while in high school; have a treatment history which includes chemotherapy and/or radiation; have not previously been awarded a scholarship from this Fund; and be currently pursuing degree at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or a certificated trade program. Applicants must submit a completed application, essay, oncologist's letter, and proof of enrollment in a school or written confirmation of your planned attendance from your selected college.
