ARMED SERVICES VOCATIONAL APTITUDE BATTERY (ASVAB) ASSESSMENT TEST

The ASVAB is an aptitude test. It consists of eight short individual tests covering General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto and Shop Information, and Mechanical Comprehension. The ASVAB measures aptitudes that are related to success in different kinds of jobs. The assessment takes about three (3) hours. Based on the assessment results, students obtain a snapshot of their current knowledge and skills. Students are able to examine educational and job requirements for occupations of interest to them. Their analysis of the results begins the career exploration process which may include high school course selection to meet personal goals.
