Zangle has only basic tools to build a web site to hold assignments, secondary links, supporting documents, etc. But it is easy to link to the District's SiteBuilder (or to other pages).
Under TeacherConnection, Class News, Add a New News Item. Note that you have basic formatting tools, but the happy faces didn't work for me. You can apply it to multiple classes at the same time. You can either Copy and Paste web addresses, or type them in.
The http:// at the front of the address is optional - it will work without it.
The parent sees this in the Class News section with hyperlinks.
The smileys did not work for me. See the next step for a discussion of the red line.
When the parent clicks on the link to a new page, it opens up within the main Zangle 'frame'. [What you are looking at here is the main ParentConnection page (see the menu bar down the left and the header at the top) with another page open inside it. Note if you use a background color, it emphasizes that you are somewhere else.]
This is not a problem, once people learn to click on one of the other Zangle links to the left to return to Zangle, but might be confusing until then. I would put a line in to remind people of that. (It should actually say 'any of the other Zangle selections'. If you click on News again, it doesn't change.)
I'm hoping that we can change this option at some point to have it open in a new web page, instead of the frame.
