Three Formats for Posting on Web

Teachers are likely using the link from their Zangle Notes page to post worksheets or assignment lists as pdf files or Word documents. There are three formats to consider:

Adobe Acrobat files (.pdf) - This is the traditional format for posting documents to the web. Formatting is locked in and is platform independent (working on both Macs and Windows computers). If you are set up for it, they are very easy to create. It does require the launching of Acrobat Reader. How to Create PDF files

Word Processing Files (Microsoft Word or Apple Pages) - It is likely that teachers will create the files with a word processing program. Posting them 'as is' removes one step for the teacher. It also means that people who download them can edit them and change them. (Depending on circumstances, this could be good or bad.) I would not post documents saved as Pages files, in that Windows users may have toruble opening them. Word (2003) documents are relatively universal, but Rich Text Format (rtf) would be better.

Web pages (.html) - If you are posting something simple, such as a list of assignments (Sect 3-1: #3,5,6,9,21-31 odd), converting it to a web page might make sense. Format changes quite a bit as users change the size of their window, their individual font choices, etc., but the pages open very quickly and are just 'part of the web'. This would be my first choice if I did not care about format. How to Create HTML files
