Locking your computer

With both of these locks, someone might still shut off your computer and then start it back up. You should save any of your documents that you have open before locking. Because Easy Grade Pro is disk-based, I would only lock my computer when my gradebook was open if it were fully backed up.

Locking your computer - Dells

When you are leaving your computer, press

• Control - Alt - Delete
• Select Lock Computer (I often use Alt-K as a keyboard shortcut)

When you want to use the computer, press Control - Alt - Delete again and type in your password.

Locking your computer - Macintosh

You need to set this up once. (There have been issues with this and the server in the past - we believe they are resolved.)

• From the Apple menu, select System Preferences
• Click on the Security preference
• Select Require Password on Wake-up

When you are leaving your computer, select the Apple Menu and Sleep.

When you return, you will need to enter your password.
