Why Integrate Technology?
Project Based Learning (PBL) is the most effective way for today’s students to acquire 21st Century skills. Research shows that students in PBL classrooms not only acquire stronger 21st Century Skills, but also often score significantly higher on high stakes standardized tests. Generally, PBL classrooms are focused on real-life, authentic tasks. The students take more ownership in their learning and are more engaged.
What are 21st Century Skills?
21st Century skills include:
* personal and social responsibility
* planning, critical thinking, reasoning, and creativity
* strong communication skills, both for interpersonal and presentation needs
* cross-cultural understanding
* visualizing and decision-making
* knowing how and when to use technology and choosing the most appropriate tool for the task
