Welcome to the ASD Home Page system and the home page of Mrs. Vaught.

I hope this is a challenging and rewarding year for your student.

In Social Studies, the focus is on World Geography. We will use the five themes of geography to explore many areas and their inhabitants around the world. Ancient
Civilizations will be studied for certain regions, too.
In Language Arts, the focus is on writing, grammar, world literature, spelling and more. I plan to weave Language Arts and Social Studies together for several units.
I am happy to be teaching with Mrs. Howland on a two-person team. We work together in a real team-focused approach to learning.

I know that by striving together, we can make this a wonderful 7th-grade year.

My elective, French 1B, is for students continuing their second year of studying French language and culture. We'll expand on what we learned last year. Students will
continue with the second half of the text Allez, Viens! and do more in-depth projects with their peers. Foreign language instruction is something that benefits the student in
many ways, and I feel fortunate to have your students with me again this year. Merci!
