TITLE
(Please write a title that describes what you were investigating.)

I. Purpose - (Write a short paragraph about what you are investigating and why.)

A. Problem (listed as questions, anything you want to find out in this lab.  Ask specific or general questions.  More specific questions may be easier to answer, but more general ones open minds to larger concepts.)

B. Information known (list what you know, what your research, and list your references)

C. Hypothesis (If ____ then____ statement.  Make a specific prediction!)

II. Procedure

A.   Materials (list and number)

III.  Data

(Tables, graphs, charts, and drawings go on this page.  Use the technique that is appropriate, and will help you show what you have discovered in the process this experiment.  Record notes and raw data from the experiment.
No need for complete sentences here.
If you use the microscope, be sure to record the size of your field of view, the magnification, and the average size of something that you can see in the field of view.
If you see color, draw color.
If you have safety concerns, ask.)

IV. Discussion and Conclusion
After an introductory paragraph, answer your questions from the "I. A. Problem" section.
Do not use numbers here, just indent your paragraphs, and write one paragraph for each answer. Identify and describe dependent & independent variables, if appropriate.
Do not copy out the question but rephrase the question in your answer!
Your conclusion, which needs to be in paragraph format, should not only make reference to the Problem, the Hypothesis, the Experiment itself, and the Data, and discuss what you learned in the lab, but it should also include the following:

1.  Were there any possible extra and/or hidden variables that might have affected the accuracy of your results?

2.  Did anything go wrong, or did anything unexpected happen?

3.  Do you have any new questions that were left unanswered by the lab?

4.  How could you answer those questions? Briefly describe an experiment that would test any new hypothesis.

5. How could you improve this lab?  (This is essential for a lab that you design yourself. )
