How long are the classes?
- Each class is 3 hours long each day, 5 days a
week.

What is the cost?
- $85 for each class.

How
early do I have to wake up?
- There is a morning session and an afternoon session.
The morning session starts at 8 a.m. and ends
at 11 a.m. The afternoon session begins at 11:40 a.m. and is over at 2:40 p.m. The KCC afternoon session runs from noon to 3 p.m.

What about transportation?
- Transportation to and from summer school is the
responsibility of the student. Check the People
Mover bus system for availability to a summer school site.

Are school meals provided?
- No, meals are not provided. It is recommended for students who attend both morning and afternoon sessions to bring a sack lunch.

Can I take a KCC class and another class at a different site?
- Yes, it is possible to take a class at KCC and a class at another site. Transportation to and from summer school is the responsibility of the parent/student.
What courses are available online this summer?
- Students may sign up for Alaska Studies Online
or Economics Online. There is a separate MyHigh Online Course Application form that
must be faxed to the MyHigh office.
How much credit may be earned?
- It is possible to earn .5 credit for each summer school course; in some instances you may be able to complete 2 courses during the summer.

What infractions could lead to the loss of credit and being withdrawn from summer school?
- Depending on the seriousness
of the infraction, other consequences may be pursued
(i.e. expulsion, police involvement).
- Having more than 3 absences
- Having more than 6 tardies
- Being involved in a fight
- Possession of drugs/alcohol
- Use of drugs/alcohol
- Possession of a weapon
- Found stealing or cheating
- Being truant
- Smoking on campus
- Being uncooperative
- Abusive language
- Disruptive behavior
- Violation of safety rules

Transcripts and Grade
Cards
- A transcript of the final grade will be sent to
the registrar at your home school. If the student
provides a self addressed, stamped envelope, the
final summer school grade(s) will be mailed home
after July 27. All grades will be available at
the student’s home school in September.

How can summer school help
if I did not pass the HSGQE?
- Summer school students who did not pass the
HSGQE, or who are at risk of not passing the
HSGQE, and who enroll in remedial Language
Arts or Math courses will receive specific
instruction designed to provide HSGQE success
for the student.
