Our Goals for the Future

How We're Measuring Progress Toward Destination 2020
In order to meet our vision and fulfill our mission, the district must be committed to strategic initiatives and encompassing goals. Goals are SMART – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely.
We use performance measures to evaluate our efforts. Each of our goals contains multiple one or more performance measures which use data and statistical evidence to determine progress.

Initiative 1
Increase reading proficiency of K-8 students
Kindergarten AIMSweb Letter Sound Fluency (LSF)- Increase from the previous year using end of year data the percentage of students whose performance is in the Benchmark/Low Risk range or maintain level at 90% or higher.
- Decrease from the previous year using end of year data the percentage of students who performance is in the At Risk range or maintain level at 5% or lower.
1st and 2nd grade AIMSweb Reading Curriculum-Based Measurement (RCBM)
- Increase from the previous year using end of year data the percentage of students whose performance is in the Benchmark/Low Risk range or maintain level at 90% or higher.
- Decrease from the previous year using end of year data the percentage of students who performance is in the At Risk range or maintain level at 5% or lower.
3rd through 8th Grade Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
- Increase from fall to spring the percentage of student who exceed typical growth in Reading or maintain level at 50% or higher.

Initiative 3
Increase the percentage of students that are college and career ready
10th through 12th Grade PSAT/ACT/SAT
- Increase the mean PSAT, ACT, or SAT scores for ASD students from the previous year using end of year data. This data will be correlated to grade point averages (GPAs).
7th through 12th Grade Course enrollments- Increase the percentage of students completing upper level coursework: middle school enrichment, honors, advanced placement, dual credit/concurrent enrollment from the previous year using end of year data.
- Increase the percentage of students within student groups completing upper level coursework: middle school enrichment, honors, advanced placement, dual credit/concurrent enrollment from the previous year using end of year data.
9th and 12th Grade Career Tech Education (CTE) pathway- Increase the number of students who complete two full credits in a CTE pathway (concentrators) from the previous year using end of year data.
- Increase the number of students who participate in a minimum six week internship from the previous year using end of year data.

- Increase the percentage of students with 5.5 credits earned at the end of the freshman year as compared to the previous year, or maintain rate at 90% or better.
- Increase the percentage of students with 11 credits earned at the end of the sophomore year as compared to the previous year, or maintain rate at 90% or better.
- Increase the percentage of students with 16.5 credits earned at the end of the junior year as compared to the previous year, or maintain rate at 90% or better.
Initiative 2:
11th through 12th grade Transcripted credits meeting graduation requirements
Increase the graduation rate
- Increase four year graduation rate for each school as compared to the previous year or maintain graduation rate at 90% or better.
- Increase the district four year graduation rate as compared to the previous year. Data for five year graduation rate will also be reported.
Initiative 3:
Secondary schools Posted grades
Increase the rate of successful course completion
- Decrease the percentage of secondary students receiving Fs for semester grades (quarters 2 and 4) as compared to the previous year.
- Decrease the percentage of students receiving Fs for semester grades (quarters 2 and 4) within individual student groups as compared to the previous year.

- Increase the district percentage of parents who report they feel welcomed at their child's school as compared to the previous year using end of year data.
- Increase the district percentage of parents reporting approval of the appearance of their child's school as compared to the previous year using end of year data.

- Decrease the percentage of reported injuries by 5% as compared to the previous year using end of year data.
