The Anchorage School District announces its COVID-19 vaccine clinic will operate to include all new eligible Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) tiers.
On Wednesday, Feb. 10, DHSS announced an update to the state’s vaccine eligibility plan that broadens the scope of who may book COVID-19 appointments.
The complete announcement from DHSS can be found here.
Due to the DHSS announcement to open Phase 1b Tier 2, and to expand the eligibility criteria of Phase 1b Tier 2 recipients, the ASD clinic will shift to appointment-only.
According to DHSS, the next tier of individuals eligible to make appointments to receive vaccines starting tomorrow include:
- People 50 years and above with a high-risk medical condition
- People 50 years and above working as a frontline essential worker
- PreK-12 and early child development programs/centers
- People living or working in congregate settings

With this update to the state vaccine plan, ALL ASD employees will be eligible to schedule available appointments through the statewide online system.
The number of appointments offered will depend on vaccine availability, clinic staffing capacity, and demand from other eligible community members.
In order to receive a vaccine, ASD employees must have a valid appointment through the state’s online system.
