Help celebrate this amazing woman by teaching your students about her accomplishments. Take a look at the resources we have highlighted HERE. Our big eight high schools host the film Ending Jim Crow in Alaska and all libraries host copies of the new book Fighter in Velvet Gloves. Many of our Title VI Staff will be teaching about Elizabeth Peratrovich with drawings for the new $1 Coin featuring the Alaska Native Civil Rights activist who led a life of advocacy for Alaska Native people. We celebrate her legacy!
