Sports & Activity Registration is Now Online!

  • Students and parents can now register for High School sports and activities using the new online system, ArbiterAthlete. See instructions below.

How to Register

  • Sports and Activities registration is now online with ArbiterAthlete. This will replace the current paper forms, and simplify your sports and activities registration process.


    Please note a paper copy of the health exam form is still required, and can be uploaded into ArbiterAthlete as a picture.


    To register:

    Both parents and students must log in to sign and submit the Athletic Forms listed online. Once all forms have been completed, please visit your school’s activities office to complete your final eligibility check.


    Paper Forms

    • Health exam forms require doctor signature. Health exams are good for 18 months and must be current through the season of the sport.‌
    • Fee Waiver forms are available if seeking a fee waiver.

  • Activity fees are:
    $193 per activity – tennis, cross country running, cheerleading, track and field, drama debate/forensics

    $204 per activity – flag football, volleyball, cross country skiing, football, wrestling, basketball, riflery, soccer

    $215 per activity – gymnastics, swimming and diving, hockey


    The activity fees are required unless:

    • a student applies for and receives a fee waiver based on hardship through the school activity office
    • or a family meets the $390 cap* for middle or high school activity fees.

    *A family cap will be implemented once the students in a family have paid $390 to participate in activities including any combination of middle and high school activities.


    Online payment

    Online payment of fees can be made using the Zangle student information system.


    Please note: Baseball, bowling, girls ice hockey and softball are not sponsored by ASD. Separate fees must be paid to the individual sponsor for these sports. These fees do not count toward ASD's family cap


  • Students must meet the eligibility standards of the Anchorage School District and the Alaska School Activities Association to participate in activities. More information about eligibility, conditions of participation and letter award criteria can be found in the High School Activities Handbook section 3.

    The tobacco, alcohol, and controlled substances policy of the ASAA requires students and parents to watch a video and sign an acknowledgement form. Get more information and watch the "Play for Keeps" video :

Homeschool Information

  • Homeschool students in grades 9-12 can apply to participate in athletics at a public school. The eligibility of these students must be verified prior to the first day of practice of the sports' season. It is the parent and student responsibility to submit a current transcript and schedule to the ASD school to verify eligibility.

    Updated transcripts and schedules must be submitted to the Activities Office by:

    • July 23, 2018
    • October 22, 2018
    • January 7, 2019
    • March 8, 2019
    • May 27, 2019

    The ASAA Eligibility Checklist for Students should be completed before arriving at the activities office of your neighborhood high school.
