Youth Art Month - Districtwide Student Show
“Take A Journey Through Art” is the theme of the 48th Annual Anchorage School District student art exhibition at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with National Youth Art Month, an acknowledgement of the visual arts programs in American schools.

Anchorage Police Department opens contest to student artists
All ASD students grades K-12 are encouraged to enter their artwork to be considered to paint the APD bear statue. Can be completed by an individual student or a student group.
The theme for the design should be wilderness or wildlife safety.
Students may submit their entries to their art teacher or scanned to Leah Maltbie by March 16, 2020.
Judges from the ASD Fine Arts Department will present the finalists to APD by March 27, where APD will decide on the winner.
The bear will be delivered to the winner’s art classroom to complete the painting. Paint will be provided.
The final painted bear will need to be complete by May 1.
