All Alaska Pediatric Partnership

The All Alaska Pediatric Partnership works with community partners to advance the health and wellness of Alaska’s children and their families.  Helping families connect to resources is offered through their program, Help Me Grow Alaska.  

Help Me Grow Alaska offers resources and support for all of Alaska’s children and their families. Our family support specialists- individuals with experience in, and understanding of, child development, social services, and resources available in Alaska and beyond - are available to listen to your concerns, help you organize a path forward, and get you connected to the most available and appropriate service in your area of Alaska.

For families with younger children, you may have questions about how your child is developing or expressing behaviors.  Therefore, we offer easy access to developmental screenings and follow up support to discuss questions or about what to expect next as your child continues to grow.

Our services are available to all families in Alaska, at no cost and regardless of insurance coverage or type. You may access our services with or without an understood issue or diagnosis and if your child is in an existing program or not yet connected to a provider.  Our services are geared towards families prenatally to children age 26, and telelanguage translation services are available. Anchorage Museum

In the Discovery Center, visitors of all ages are introduced to Alaska and the Arctic through technology, interactive installations, artwork, marine-life tanks and more. The space is divided into several distinct areas, each providing an opportunity to learn about our Northern environment. The Tote space is designed for young children to explore and play around the theme of Home. Programs for families with children five and younger are offered throughout the year.

Anchorage Public Library

The Anchorage Public Library offers many resources and activities for toddler and preschool aged children, including story times, book and kit checkout, a hands-on play area and Countdown to Kindergarten events.  

Best Beginnings

Best Beginnings is a public-private partnership that mobilizes people and resources to ensure all Alaska children begin school ready to succeed.  Resources include materials, videos, web sites and print pieces for growing strong readers and building strong families.

FOCUS

In Eagle River & Chugiak, on Elmendorf and Fort Rich, FOCUS is the agency that works in respectful partnerships with families in offering Infant Learning services for children with developmental delays.

Programs for Infants and Children, Inc (PIC)

PIC provides early intervention services to children 0-3 who reside in Anchorage.  PIC’s mission is to promote the growth and development of young children who experience developmental delays by supporting and strengthening parents. Parents are encouraged to contact PIC if you have concerns about your child’s development.

Stone Soup

Stone Soup is a statewide non-profit that provides information, support, training and resources to assist families caring for children with special needs.  

thread

thread provides information and help for families in finding early care and education referrals and parenting support.  Training is available for early educators through classes and onsite child care assistance and consultation offered throughout the year.
