Festivals and Honor Groups

Each year outstanding students enrolled in the sixth grade band program join together to form the Elementary Honor Band. Selection of members is based on auditions. Only Anchorage School District sixth-graders enrolled in their school’s band or orchestra program may audition. No exceptions will be allowed. Band teachers will distribute detailed audition information to students. For specific audition, rehearsal, and concert dates and locations, see the Fine Arts Calendar (link on main menu). Attendance is expected at all rehearsals and, of course, the performance. The conductor may grant permission for a student to be absent from a regular rehearsal. Students who are accepted into Honor Band will need to provide their own transportation to and from rehearsals and the performance. 

Honor Choir

Each year outstanding fifth and sixth grade music students join together to form the Elementary Honor Choir. Selection of members is based on auditions. Only Anchorage School District fifth- and sixth-graders may audition. No exceptions will be allowed. Classroom music teachers will distribute detailed audition information to students. Honor Orchestra
