• Dear Cougar Family:

    Our principals, clerical, and security staff have bagged, tagged, and sorted by alpha the contents of all of our 1,400 lockers at Service. This was a huge job, and I’m grateful for everyone’s hard work. You will be able to pick up the contents of your locker(s) and preordered and prepaid yearbooks beginning next week. The details and schedule are below.

    But first, a word to our Senior Class . . . Don’t forget to upload a picture of you in your cap and gown and a 10-second video of a graduation moment or thank you using the link included in my last email. Need some inspiration? Some have words, and some don’t, but these are all perfectly unique and amazing, and I can’t wait to compile all of the videos together and share them with our Service community. Don’t be left out! Send your video and photo by the end of the day on Thursday, April 30.

    And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming and locker-content distribution . . . Beginning next week, students will collect their locker items, band or orchestra instrument(s), and preordered and prepaid yearbooks. Students will also drop off any textbooks, library books, uniforms, equipment, or any other school items.

    The distribution of locker contents will begin on Monday, May 4, with seniors. All traffic will enter from Abbott Road on the G Side. This is the west side of the building, between the pool and the school.

    We have nearly 1600 students who need to pick up items, so please, arrive on your scheduled date and during your scheduled time to help with the flow of traffic. Siblings may pick up their items together, even if they are scheduled on different days.

    Again, please arrive according to the date and alphabet schedule below to help with the flow of traffic:

    Monday, May 4          Seniors
    Tuesday, May 5         Juniors
    Wednesday, May 6    Sophomores
    Thursday, May 7        Freshmen
    Friday, May 8             Open pickup

    ALPHA order by LAST NAME:

    LAST NAME STARTS WITH:  A-C         8:00 – 9:00
    LAST NAME STARTS WITH:  D- G        9:00 – 10:00
    LAST NAME STARTS WITH:  H-L         10:00 – 11:00
    LAST NAME STARTS WITH:  M-P        11:00 – 12:00
                                             Break     12:00 – 12:30
    LAST NAME STARTS WITH:  Q-T        12:30 – 1:30
    LAST NAME STARTS WITH:  U-Z         1:30 – 2:30

    You will progress through several stations when you come to pick up and drop off items. It is mandatory that you stay in your car during the process and keep your window up until directed otherwise. Staff members will not be able to get closer to your car than six feet.

    Print students’ full names and grades on a sheet of paper to display through your driver’s-side window when you arrive. If you need to pick up an instrument, pre-purchased a yearbook, or had it personalized, write that down, too.

    Students assigned a shared locker must be present at item pickup to retrieve locker contents.

    Station 1 (the corner of the West Gym parking lot)
    • Display through the driver’s-side window the paper you brought, with students’ full names and grades, whether you need to pick up an instrument, and whether you pre-purchased a yearbook and had it personalized

    Station 2 (under the G-Side bridge)
    •    Pick up locker contents, instrument, and pre-purchased yearbook

    Station 3 (under the D-Side bridge)
    •    Turn in any textbooks or library books from home
    •    Turn in any uniforms or concert dresses
    •    Turn in sheet music, folders, and/or instruments
    •    Turn in any equipment

    Exit out the east side.

    Again, only previously preordered and prepaid yearbooks will be available next week. We will not be able to accept payment for yearbooks when we are distributing locker contents. If seniors need to purchase yearbooks, please let Ms. Galloway know (galloway_chelsea@asdk12.org). All other students wishing to purchase a yearbook will have that opportunity in the fall.

    We have one more “Lunch with Mr. Hauser” Zoom session tomorrow, April 30, at 11:00 (see my email for details). Then I will see you next week at our locker-content distribution. Please, folks, help us out and follow the schedule and directions above. This will be a monumental, week-long undertaking, but we’ll get through it, if we work together.
