The King Career Center’s Public Safety and Security class is conducting its annual class community service project that pairs the class with the Palmer Correctional Center in Sutton. Students in the Public Safety and Security class are collecting new, unwrapped toys and will facilitate distribution of the toys to children of incarcerated inmates at the correctional center.

“Incarcerated parents are usually unable to give their child a gift at Christmas. This class is working with the correctional facility in hopes they can bring a smile to a child during the holiday season,” said Teacher Teena Calkin.

The class is asking community members and retailers for assistance in providing gifts as well as postage for those who are out of state.  Anyone wishing to donate gifts, gift cards or postage, may contact Calkin at 742-8900 or
