Bartlett High Student Xavier Love Xavior Love, an 11th grade student at Bartlett High School, earned a spot in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts’ Summer Encore Program. This five-week program is exclusively for advanced actors to provide them professional training and industry experience. Love was one of 12 students from the United States and Great Britain who was accepted to the program. He will travel to Los Angeles, California at the end of June to attend the program.

In order to fund Love’s trip for this remarkable professional training, Bartlett High School Theatre Director Janel Walton started a fundraiser to cover tuition, room/board and transportation. Within two weeks, the Bartlett High and Begich Middle School communities, as well as the Anchorage improv and acting communities, raised the full $6,500 needed for Love to attend the camp.

“If you have seen Love act, you know how deeply passionate he is about his craft and how serious he is about pursuing his dream,” said Walton. “Love is truly a one-of-a-kind student, someone who I have a strong feeling will make it big one day.”

Love takes Advanced Placement courses, immerses himself in acting in the Bartlett and broader Anchorage community, and works at a local movie theater. He hopes to be accepted to Juilliard School.
