IBEW Local 1547 and Anchorage School Business Partnerships Award Trips to Disneyland and a Laptop Computer to Celebrate Excellent Attendance

WHAT: IBEW Local 1547 and Anchorage School Business Partnerships will award the grand prizes for the 2013-14 Elementary Attendance Incentive Promotion. One Kindergartener and one 5th or 6th grade student with no unexcused absences for the entire school year will each receive an all-expense paid family vacation for four to Disneyland in California. One elementary student (grade K-6) with no unexcused absences will receive a laptop computer.

The Elementary Attendance Incentive is in its inaugural year, during which Anchorage School District saw a significant and striking increase in attendance within the district. The purpose of the Elementary Attendance Incentive Program is to improve attendance among younger students. Elementary students with excused absences remain eligible for this incentive program, this was decided on in order to avoid encouraging young students to attend school when they are ill.

  • Jason Pirtle: Trip to Disneyland, Kindergarten, Willow Crest Elementary
