The Commission on Salaries and Emoluments will be holding a public hearing to hear testimony on a proposed 1.5% salary increase for the Anchorage Assembly Members’ and the Anchorage School Board Members’ on Monday, November 23, 2015, at City Hall, 632 W. 6th Avenue, Room 240, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Parking is available behind City Hall.
The Commission is charged under the Municipal Charter with establishing the salaries and benefits of elected officials. The Commission last approved increases to the assembly and school board members’ salaries from 2009-2012, as detailed in Resolution 2008-2, as amended, which is available on the Clerk’s website at www.muni.org/clerk. The Assembly Members’ current salary is $28,024,plus a $250.00 bi-weekly optional medical allowance, as detailed in the Resolution 2008-2 as amended; the Assembly Chair’s current salary is $31,713. The Anchorage School Board Members’ current salary is $21,476, plus a $250.00 bi-weekly medical allowance, as detailed in the Resolution; the School Board President’s current salary is $25,310.
The Salaries and Emoluments Commission may take final action on the proposed increase. The public is welcome to attend and testify at the hearing.
