(Anchorage, AK) – Reporters are invited to attend an Alaska Grown roasted vegetable tasting with Polaris K-12 School students in Anchorage on Jan. 29.
During the Roasted Alaska Grown Vegetable Taste Test, students will sample a medley of roasted Alaska Grown vegetables – squash, beets, parsnips and turnips – and pick the vegetable they prefer. The students will also have the opportunity to submit suggestions for naming the roasted vegetable dish.
This event is hosted by the Division of Agriculture’s Farm to School Program and the Polaris K-12 Student Government, with assistance from East High School culinary class students. LaDonna Dean, an Anchorage School District dietitian, will participate in the taste test and use the results to inform school meal menu options.
