Aurora Elementary School Achieves Blue Ribbon School Honors

We are pleased to announce that Aurora Elementary School has achieved Blue Ribbon School honors.

Using standards of excellence evidenced by student achievement, the Blue Ribbon program honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap.


  • Aurora Elementary is a K-sixth grade school located on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson. The school’s motto, Soar to Success, is reflective of the desire to see students enjoy success in all of their endeavors.
  • Aurora Elementary was also a winner of a 2013 National Blue Ribbon Award! This was a catalyst for the school and community to refocus on how the school, parents, and the wider community can partner to create environments in which students flourish.
  • Aurora proudly serves the families of those that serve our country. The school works closely with families to ease transitions for the children of military professionals.
  • Aurora elementary has a comprehensive program of instruction, designed to contribute both to the academic and social success of students.
  • The school offers special education, speech and language support, bilingual services (Spanish, Chinese, Filipino, and Japanese), and Ignite classes designed to provide a higher level of enrichment.
  • Aurora Elementary School is a culturally responsive school, fostering a climate of respect and care for all, ensuring all students and their families are welcomed and included in school activities.
