3rd Quarter 3rd Session After School Program

Great News, King Tech High School is offering another 3rd session!

Classes for 9th through 12th grade students will begin on Tuesday, January 17 and end on Thursday, March 09, 2023. Classes will run Monday through Thursday from 3-5pm.

A bus will be provided from the home high school to King Tech. Busses will take students home to proximity stops within their home area.

The following classes will be offered (please see the program of studies attached):

  • Intro to Advertising, Art, and Design
  • Intro to Automotive/ Small Engine
  • Intro to Aviation Technology
  • Intro to Business
  • Intro to Carpentry
  • Intro to Collision Repair
  • Intro to Cosmetology
  • Rural Criminal Justice
  • Intro Culinary and Hospitality Foundations
  • Intro to Film, Audio, and Video Production
  • Health Occupations Essentials

Enrollment Procedures and Requirements:

  1. 9th through 12th-grade students.
  2. Student cannot take a class they have already taken.
  3. Students will attend one course for the entire session.
  4. Courses will be randomly assigned using a spreadsheet randomizing function.
  5. Courses are worth .5 elective credit and a letter grade for completing the course.
  6. Enrollment Deadline Friday, December 09. The Randomizer will run on Monday, December 12.

Important: For 3rd session registration, we will be using a google doc form.

In addition to announcements made in your school, we will be sending out text messages and emails encouraging students to register through their school counselors.  

3rd Session Attendance Policies

  • For all classes, a student may miss up to three days without a note from a medical provider.
  • “No Shows” risk being dropped in the first 2 days.
  • Due to the limited number of spaces available, and an extensive wait list, DROP/ADDS will be made on a case-by-case basis. January 19th, 2023 will be the last day to DROP/ADD a course.
  • If space in a class becomes available, open seats will be offered to waitlisted students by phone on January 20th, 2023. The student offered a seat is expected to begin on January 23rd, 2023.
