Middle School Summer Career Exploration
  • The Career Exploration Summer School Program is designed to provide 8th grade students the opportunity to explore up to 6 different career fields of interest. Students will participate in career and education planning while attending hands-on career exploration classes, and can opt for a .5 elective high school credit.

    Tentative 2023 Middle School Summer Career Exploration Information:


    Explore up to six different career fields in the following options: 


    • Arts, A/V & Communication
    • Business Management
    • Architecture & Construction
    • Cosmetology
    • Culinary
    • Health Science
    • Human & Community Service
    • Information Technology & Computer Science
    • Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)
    • Transportation (including Automotive & Aviation)


    RegistrationRegistration Requirements:Students must be an out-going 8th grader / incoming 9th grader currently enrolled in an ASD school for 2022-23 school year with the intent of coming back in Fall 2023.Students must attend the full 2 weeks to be eligible.Students must abide by all school district policies.


    ScheduleSession Dates:
    Session 1: May 30 - June 9, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm (no session on Monday, May 29)  
    Session 2: June 12 - June 23, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm


    Location/TransportationLocation, Transportation and Food:King Tech High School (2650 E. Northern Lights Blvd) & Wendler Middle School (2950 Lake Otis Blvd)

    Transportation is provided from area schools to Wendler Middle School (parents may also drop & pick up students).


    Breakfast and lunch will be available.
