OFFICE OF STUDENT SERVICES UPDATE:
Attendance is one of the most important factors for student success and absences have an impact on academic performance and high school graduation. Attendance Works (www.attendanceworks.org) notes that “missing 10%, or 2 days a month, over the course of the school year, can affect a student’s academic success.” If you have an upcoming trip planned and know your child will miss school, please contact the front office for a pre-arranged absence form. We also encourage you to reach out to teachers ahead of time to coordinate academics and stay on top of assignments.
We have our first ALICE drill scheduled for September 28th during the 2nd period (we will use a Homeroom schedule to accommodate the drill). We will evacuate to our rally points so that all staff and students know where they are located. See the attached flyer for more information related to ALICE. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. It will be very clear to all staff and students that we are only conducting a drill.
Important information regarding buses: Starting October 3rd, bus service will resume at Dimond until October 20th. While buses are in service, private vehicles will not be allowed on the access road. Student drop-off and pick-up will be directed to the student parking lot and the pull-through off of 88th, near the front doors of the school. Additionally, 1st period tardies will accumulate towards discipline as part of our tardy policy during this timeframe.
