Update for Feb. 4, 2019

Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) News

Sweetheart luncheon is this Friday – if your CTSO students have not signed up to volunteer, see Teena before you leave.  We still need auction items – please, if you have something your students can make or you have a connection that can donate – please provide that by Thursday to Gaby.  Staff, if you can help right after school on Friday we would appreciate your assistance. 

March 28th and 29th – Thursday and Friday will be the SkillsUSA State Conference and Competition beginning that morning. We will also be using the lower West hallway for photo and pin design displays. 

Opening ceremonies will be from 3-4PM on the 28th in meeting room 1, join us to see what SkillsUSA is all about.  Awards will be on Saturday March 30th at UAA.


Parent Teacher Organization

Our next PTO meeting will be Monday March 25th at 6PM in Room 219, come meet the beginnings of a board and we will continue to recruit.  Staff, if you would like to work with our parents on how best they can support us and work together, please join us on the 25th


From the Health Office

Students, we have confirmed cases of influenza and none of the afflicted received a flu shot. Flu is on the rise – not too late to get a flu shot!



King Tech Graduation

The first King Tech High graduation will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 11:30  at the Wendy Williamson auditorium on the UAA campus.  Any questions or issues regarding caps and gowns, announcements and all other graduation related questions can be directed to Mrs. Valantas.


Graduation pictures will be available for purchase online one day after the graduation ceremony at Fitzgerald Photos


From the King Tech Job Center

FAFSA night at the Job Center is Wednesday, February 6 from 5:30-7:00.

City-Wide Job Fair Friday, 2/8, from 10-4 at the University Mall.  KTHS will transport a group of students to and from the event by bus during the PM Session.



Student Government

We will be selling food at lunch Monday-Friday with pizza on Wednesday and Friday.

We will be selling Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day this week.



On the Job Training

Two students, Javier Cruz and James Garrison, from Construction Electricity program were placed in on-the-job-training with Haakenson Electric.
