Student Nutrition Update

An important message from Susitna office and Student Nutrition

Hello Families,

 

Families may apply for free and reduced-price lunches at any time of the school year. If your family has lost job hours, experienced layoffs or had a change in circumstances, please visit student nutrition at to apply online. Please list all ASD students on the application. Email snadmin@asdk12.org if you need assistance with your application.

 

**At this time Breakfast and Lunches are still free through district food distribution sites**

COVID-19

Office Closed to the Public

Please do not deliver payments or Free & Reduced-price meal applications in-person to our schools, the Student Nutrition Center, or Education Center. Please use our online application for Free & Reduced-price meal benefits, you may also print and mail your application to the Student Nutrition Center at the below address. Credit and Debit card payments are accepted online through Parent Connection, checks may be mailed to the Student Nutrition Center at the below address, please ensure your student's name and ASD ID number or date of birth are listed in the Memo line of the check.

To the parents or guardians of students at Susitna elementary,

In the past your school was part of the Community Eligibility Program provided to schools with a high percentage of free and reduced students. The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) that previously allowed all students a free breakfast and lunch will not be available in School Year 19-20 due to a significant decrease in families living below the poverty measures used to establish CEP status.

 

What does this mean for my student?

To qualify for free and reduced-price meals you will need to apply at www.asdk12.org/studentnutrition

If you do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals you may pre-fund your child’s account through https://parentconnect.asdk12.org/production/parentportal

Food Sites

WHEN:

For families utilizing school food services, ASD Student Nutrition will provide free food beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHO:

Food will be available for any child 18 years of age or younger at established food service sites. Students are encouraged to pick up meals and if they are unable, then parents/guardians may pick up for them.
