SAVE is excited to announce the addition of three new staff to the school.
Ron Brown is the new Principalat SAVE High School. He has served in District Administration for more than a decade, since 2007, having been the Assistant Principal at Begich Middle, Clark Middle, Wendler Middle, Service High, and most recently, at Bartlett High School. He was also a substitute teacher in the District. Before working in ASD, Ron was a counselor and case management supervisor for Denali Family Services, Alaska Family Services, the Jesse Lee School, all in Anchorage, and worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Riverside, California. Ron served for eight years in the U.S. Air Force.
Maureen van Wagner is the new Special Education Teacher at SAVE High School. Maureen was recently the Special Education Department Chair at Central Middle School. Prior to that, Maureen was a special education teacher at East High School for twelve years.
Sarah Lahn-Roberts is the new Counselor at SAVE High School. Sarah has been a counselor in the district for 18 years. She has worked at Chugiak, Dimond, Service, and for the past 11 years, at Eagle River High School. Prior to working for the Anchorage School District, Sarah was a mental health therapist at Providence Discovery Unit and residential program for girls, Covenant House and Charter North Hospital (now called North Star). Sarah comes to us with great, positive energy for students and the excitement to help our students succeed.
