Steller Student Artwork in 51st Annual ASD Artshow

YOUR ART, YOUR VOICE

ANCHORAGE SCHOOL DISTRICT YOUTH ART SHOW 2023

On view March 3 – April 9, 2023 in the Museum Atrium

The 51st annual Anchorage School District youth art show is a collaboration between the Anchorage Museum and Anchorage School District celebrating young artists. This presentation of student art gives kindergarten through high school students the opportunity to showcase their artworks in a museum. Teachers select the pieces, which include drawings, paintings, multimedia works, photography, jewelry, and sculpture.

This year’s art works are inspired by the power art holds to share voices, stories, and self-expression. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with National Youth Art Month (March), an acknowledgement of visual arts programs in American schools. In addition to the Anchorage Museum, exhibition locations include Anchorage municipal buildings and libraries. The pieces chosen from Steller artists are as follows: Aurora Ruckel (Pen and Ink), Brynn Sharp (Torn Paper), Hana Honkola (Oil Pastels), Juvette Mata (Torn Paper), Lauren Souza (Torn Paper), Mo Spooner (Pen, ink, and markers), Naomi Erickson (Oil Pastels), Rhiannon Adkins (Colored Pencil), and Spencer Hoover(Torn Paper). Be sure to congratulate these students on their hard work!
