Drivers: Please be aware of new law regarding cell phone use in school zones

A new ordinance (law) passed by the Anchorage Assembly on June 20, 2019 makes it unlawful for a driver of any vehicle to talk on a mobile communication device while driving a vehicle within an active school zone or on school grounds, unless the vehicle is stopped or a hands-free device is used.  You can be ticketed $500 and lose 6 points on your license should you be cited.  Please see the attached document for more information.
