Spirit of Tomorrow award goes to Providence Hospital. Thank you for supporting our students in the Bio-Med Program! Click here for details.
Providence Hospital, with Jaimie Smith and Laarni Power, has been an essential partner to the Biomedical Career Academy (BCA) and HOSA – Future Health Professionals at Service High School. This partnership includes guest speaker engagements, where medical professionals share their expertise in fields such as nursing, surgery, and emergency medicine. Providence has also sponsored a districtwide HOSA event, helping students develop leadership and professional skills. Additionally, the hospital facilitates job-shadowing, mentorships, and field trips, allowing students to gain exposure to healthcare settings and better understand career pathways in medicine. The partnership directly benefits Service High School and the Biomedical Career Academy (BCA) students by providing real-world exposure to healthcare careers. Through job-shadowing, mentorships, and surgical viewings, students gain practical experience and a better understanding of medical professions.
The nomination from Ms. Williamson earned Providence the highest award, the Jim Utter Award of Excellence from the "Spirit of Tomorrow."
