Wednesday, December 5th update
We have just received some limited access to West High School! This is VERY limited access, and a couple of our areas continue to be “off limits” to us. We continue to have engineers here, along with our amazing maintenance people and contractors. Over the next few days we’ll be cleaning up, and getting ready for school to start next week.
I know that a number of you are interested in helping us. If you are interested in helping, please email Tonya Quiett at email@example.com. Please include a good phone number for Tonya to call. When we need people, Tonya will call people individually. Please do not just show up to help, we must keep an orderly system. Also – if you have already contacted me, please email Tonya as well. There are so many of you that I cannot keep all of the emails in order.
Please keep monitoring email, as we will be updating you further as we get more information.
We are going to have two different times for you to come retrieve items that you need. Please see below for those times.
Item Retrieval Times:
Wednesday 12/5, 2:00-4:00pm. Enter the main doors, under the big reader board. You will be escorted, one by one, to get your items.
Thursday 12/6, 1:00-3:00pm. Enter the main doors, under the big reader board. You will be escorted, one by one, to get your items.
Tuesday, December 4th update
As we continue to wait for our maintenance folks to get West High School to a point of occupation, I thank you for your cooperation and patience. We found out on 12/4 that we won’t be a “green” school by Wednesday 12/5, so we are hoping for later in the week. There are some structural items that they are testing to make sure they are safe before releasing the building for our use.
If you have a high need to retrieve an item from the school, please email Principal Gustafson so he can figure out a time to coordinate. This would be for a medication, or maybe car keys. This would not be for instruments, old lunches in the locker, or getting gym shoes for a practice. Really, this would need to be for a high-need item. In order to get into the building he would need to get in touch with maintenance so that we could be escorted to retrieve the high need item.
